Together for Health

Dr. Angel Algarin came to Arizona in 2022 with a mission to build a healthier, more equitable state through research, service, and community partnerships. His work spans improving access to care, developing community-informed health programs, and addressing inequities in infectious diseases such as HIV. Angel has led multiple grant funded projects reaching hundreds of Maricopa County residents and has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles influencing public health policy and practice. He serves on the Board of Directors for Aunt Rita’s Foundation and as a member of the City of Phoenix Fast Track City Ad Hoc Committee, collaborating with leaders across sectors to end the HIV epidemic in Arizona. He is running for the Maricopa County Special District Healthcare Board to advance bold, evidence-based, community-driven solutions that make health systems more equitable, cost-effective, and accessible for all residents.
